In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To comfort Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.
-- Charles H. Gabriel,
"My Savior's Love"
His sacrifice was not in vain
I feel the pain and sorrow
He endured to save the world
the blows inflicted
Writhing as they nailed Him to the cross
The agony endured in His final hour
The cry of anguish as He lingered--eternity
Wishing for death
I weep as I reenact the moment
Of finality
So much to accomplish
In His lifetime.
Fiat!
